Preface : Nilkins Graphics

Presentation

Nilkins Graphics, shortened nkGraphics, is the 3D rendering component within the Nilkins Engine. Abstracting low level graphics API such as DirectX, it allows users to use the GPU for any purpose. Use it to render objects, design an effect, for compute workloads, or for all of those at the same time !

Currently offering, amongst others :

  • Select what you want to use, currently DirectX12 or DirectX11
  • Latest technologies : raytracing through DXR, leveraging RTX GPUs capabilities
  • Advanced image composition controls
  • Easy resource management : meshes, textures, buffers...

Note : Dependencies

The nkGraphics component relies on some components, that you can find listed within the high level overview general tutorial. However, it is good to note some information :

  • Dependency over nkWinUi is lazy, meaning that linked dll will be loaded only when a window related operation is done

The tutorials

This tutorial series will guide you through the capabilities of the component, one at a time. An application will be gradually built over the full course, and as such all code given is dependent on the last tutorial, if any.

Here is a taste of what those tutorials have in store for you :
